Impact on Socity
As per the report of veterinary hospital, Birsingpur, more than 50% farmers prefer the Sahiwal breeds in Artificial Insemination for local cow up-gradation , While DFS of Jersey & H.F. are also available. This trends of prioritization of Sahiwal came in light after DRI’s working in the field.
Innovative Experiments
Vermi-composting is an eco-friendly, socially sound and economically viable innovative technology to manage the organic waste resources on low capital input basis. This does not call for expansive laboratories or sophisticated industrial instruments. It has multiple benefis- can convert wastes in rich manure for soil or plant and can eliminates the dependence on chemicals.
It is basically a process of composting with earth worms ( Eisenia Foetida). It can be done virtually anywhere either in-door of out-door conditions. Organic wastes used for composting are cow dung, agricultural waste, forestry waste, city leaf litter etc.
In our experiments we have three kinds of organic waste ie cow dung, waste wheat straw, and dry leaf of mahua .
To conduct the trial three types of organic waste ( semi de-compost cow dung in bed no. 1, semi de-compost 50% cow dung + 50% semi de-compost Mahua leaves in bed no. 2, 50% semi de-compost waste wheat straw + 50% cow dung in bed no. 3 ) were given for feeding to earth worm in separate bed.
After one month from filling the bed, we observe the growth of worms in bed no. 2 (semi de-compost 50% cow dung + 50% semi de-compost Mahua leaves) was better than other.
Conclusion
Conclusion can be drown that most convenient condition can be provided for vermi composting to fed the mixed of semi de-compost organic waste (cow dung + Plant s leaves).
