Objective
The education system now prevailing is only a mechanism to enable people to earn incomes. The people have lost their sensibilities and social responsibilities and developed tendencies and attitudes that are unbecoming of a man.
Surrendra Paul was a man of unique personality. He graduated from MIT and was highly impressed by the principles of Swami Vivekanand. Unfortunately, he met a precocious death. To commemorate him, this institute was established. To spread the light of knowledge in the most backward region of India, SURENDRAPAUL Gramodaya Vidyalaya was started in the year 1992 at Chitrakoot. It is a residential cum day school imparting education from LKG to 12th class through medium of Hindi as per the prescribed syllabi of MP Govt. Apart from the above syllabi the students are trained in moral sciences, General Knowledge, Gardening, Music, Arts and Sports.
